Life Skills and Vocational training program

The life skills and vocational training program is a 3 part program designed to empower Nigerian youths towards re-shaping their mindsets on the need to take charge of their lives by pursuing further vocational and educational goals.

Through the life skills and vocational training program, LEAD Nigeria:

  • Trains, empower and equip young people as peer educators on life skills issues with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to inform and inspire their fellow peers on issues threatening their survival and development within the context of their local environment and communities

  • Provide at-risk youths and young people the opportunities to acquire a vocational skill of choice. Through our partners at the Delta state model youth resource center, young people are given the opportunity to learn either barbing/ hairdressing, tailoring/fashion design, catering, welding, plumbing, carpentry or Computer information systems. During the 6-8 months certificate program, participants are provided with the physical training/working tools and books needed to ensure a successful program completion and graduation

  • Connect successful vocational skills graduates with micro-credit funding, financial advisers and other resources needed to start up their own small business in pursuing their economic goals.
