Save a Child Initiative

As hope dims for universal primary education today, Lead Nigeria designed and created the “SAVE A CHILD INITIATIVE” project supporting the Millennium Development Goal 2 – “Ensure Universal Primary Education” with the objective of promoting the survival, growth, protection, participation and development of kids from Motherless memorial homes and orphanages through primary education and public enlightenment and providing in school support and after-school services.

With the Millennium Development Goals now transformed to the Sustainable Development Goals of 2030, LEAD Nigeria is now advancing its efforts towards ensuring equitable quality education for Nigerian youths, promoting lifelong education and mentorship for employment purposes, and increasing the number of Nigerian youths and young adult who have relevant technical, vocational and entrepreneurial skills needed to start their own small businesses.

LEAD Nigeria hosts the Annual “Show Love valentine’s day gala/ benefit party” on valentine’s day (February 14th) in New York to raise funds for the Save a child Initiative. The Show Love valentine’s gala/benefit party is a black tie event designed to connect the international public to local charities in Nigeria and across the African continent.

LEAD Nigeria simultaneously hosts the Show love Valentine’s Day party in Nigeria on Valentine’s Day as well, where kids from motherless memorial homes, orphanages and juvenile centers come together to enjoy a day of fun with food, music and performances by local artists and celebrities. Items and funds donated to the LEAD Nigeria friendship center by the public are provided to the kids during the party either through raffles or open clothing and book selection drives.
